Probably L. M. Prince & Bro., Cincinnati, OH
Unknown

Date Introduced: - ; Years Manufactured: c. 1890's
Construction: rear focus via
push-pull; single swing;
three-piece lensboard; non-reversing
Materials: mahogany body; cherry bed; black fabric bellows;
nickeled hardware
Sizes Offered: at least 5x8
Notes: Just like the
Prince Bros. Improved Utility, this camera possesses
many features similar to the ROC New Model, such as
the tilt down ground glass frame, the tilt mechanism and the clip on top.
But the above camera has the same L-shaped bed of the Prince model, and, just
like the Prince Improved Utility, the details differ slightly from the ROC
camera. The most significant difference from New Models of the same era is
that the ROC New Models had an ground glass hinge that has an integrated metal
peg for the plateholder, whereas here the peg for the holder is part of the
wooden back and the hinges are separate. The metal corners on the front
standard were probably added as reinforcements by the owner.
